About
A UK software company, built on doing the work properly
Veloriq Software Ltd designs and builds tailored software and provides independent technology consultancy. We are a recently established company, and we would rather earn confidence through how we work than claim a history we do not have.
How we work
Six commitments that shape every engagement
These are operating rules rather than values statements. Each one has a visible consequence in how a project runs.
- 01Say no when no is the right answer
If an off-the-shelf product fits better, if the budget will not cover the requirement, or if the work should not be done at all, we will say so before taking a deposit.
- 02Price in the open
Every service page carries a starting figure. You can judge whether we are in your range without a discovery call that exists only to reveal the price.
- 03Scope in writing, exclusions included
The list of what is not included prevents more disputes than the list of what is. Both appear in every quotation.
- 04No lock-in
Source code, documentation and credentials transfer to you. Hosting is set up in your own accounts. You can leave and maintain the software elsewhere.
- 05Independent advice
No reseller agreements, partner tiers or vendor commissions. Our only commercial relationship is with the client.
- 06Direct contact
You speak to the people doing the work. A named point of contact throughout, and no account management layer in between.
Technical practice
Modern practice, deliberately conventional choices
We use established, well-supported technology for business systems. The decision about which framework to use is really a decision about who will be able to maintain your software in five years, and that makes it a commercial question as much as a technical one.
In practice that means mainstream web technologies, relational databases where the data is relational, documented APIs, automated tests around the parts that matter, automated deployment, and monitoring so that failures are noticed by a system rather than by a customer.
- Version control and code review on every change
- Automated tests on core business logic
- Separate staging and production environments
- Automated build and deployment pipelines
- WCAG 2.1 AA good practice on interfaces
- Dependency review and security patching
- Error monitoring and structured logging
- Documented handover on every project

Judge us on a conversation
